What An Honor Our Priesthood Is!

Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:

“The chamber which faces toward the north is for the priests who keep charge of the altar. These are the sons of Zadok, who from the sons of Levi come near to the Lord to minister to Him”

Ezekiel 40:46

From our past week’s worth of messages about Zadok, I hope you realize now, more than ever, about the tremendously faithful to God, to the covenant, and to the priesthood history of this family of “the sons of Zadok.”

Even in this latest falling away from God, from the people and the priesthood of Israel, which Ezekiel wrote about, hundreds of years after the death of Zadok, it was only “the sons of Zadok” who remained faithful to their God, their covenant with God, and their priesthood unto God.

And how did God regard and reward the faithfulness of “the sons of Zadok”? By giving them the highest of priestly privileges, which was to personally minister to the Lord in the inner court, as close as one could get to the very Holy of Holies, where God dwelt.

God even gave them a special chamber, near to Him, just for “the sons of Zadok.”

Now here are you and I in this day, born again into a New Covenant in Jesus Christ, and graciously made to be God’s present day priesthood. As beloved children of God through Jesus Christ our Lord, we have immediately, all of us, been given access as priests into God’s presence.

That which was reserved for only the most faithful “sons of Zadok” in the Old Testament, has now been freely given to all of us in the body of Christ at the very moment of our new birth. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).

Many are still in great darkness about their priesthood and, whether they know it or not, they are suffering as a result.

So let us minister to our Lord in the “marvelous light” of His presence today, in our inner court, the temple of God within us, and let us encourage all believers in Jesus Christ to leave the darkness behind them and instead joyfully step into the “marvelous light” of their own highly favored and honored priesthood unto God.

Yes, behold how highly God values our faithful priesthood unto Himself through seeing how highly God valued the faithful sons of Zadok.. Rejoice in this and give thanks before your God this day for all of the great things He has accomplished for you and for the new person in His New Covenant, with a new priesthood, that He has graciously created and gifted you to be, in Jesus’ name.
