Jesus Christ Governs God’s House And Also Has Charge Of His Courts
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“The angel of the Lord admonished Joshua, saying, “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘if you will walk in My ways and if you will perform My service, then you will also govern My house and also have charge of My courts, and I will grant you free access among those who are standing here’”
Zechariah 3:7
Hallelujah, beloved child and priest of God; Our great resurrected “Lord” and “Priest Forever”, Jesus Christ, has most definitely walked in His Father’s ways and He has performed God’s service, exactly as this word from Zechariah says. As such, this means that right now, in this moment, and forever, Jesus Christ both governs God’s house (with His New Covenant) and has charge of His courts (as High Priest of His temple).
Amen. We bless You and praise You in this high and holy and perfect truth, Lord Jesus.
As priests unto our Lord and High Priest, Jesus Christ, we also truly desire to “walk in My ways,” and that is seen in our specifically honoring, understanding, and obeying the New Covenant, which truly is Christ Himself.
As priests unto our Lord and High Priest, Jesus Christ, we also truly desire to “perform My service,” and that is seen in our specifically honoring, understanding, and obeying our priesthood unto our High Priest, Who truly is Christ Himself.
When we walk in God’s ways and perform His service, we are saying “yes” every day to the high and holy truth of Jesus Christ Himself, declaring with our very lives that He is both our “Lord” and “Priest forever” (Psalm 110: 1,4).
Jesus Christ, Himself, is the blood of the New Covenant. On the eve of His crucifixion our Savior instituted communion, saying “This cup that is poured out for you is the New Covenant in My blood” (Luke 22:20).
It was God our Father, Himself, Who raised His Son from the dead through the blood of the New Covenant, Who “brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord” (Hebrews 13:20).
And, our resurrected Savior, Jesus our “Lord” and “priest forever,” is in fact also our Mediator of His New Covenant, meaning that Christ Himself is the One Who has made us right and made us one with God our Father through the redeeming and sanctifying blood of the New Covenant; “He is also the mediator of a better covenant which has been enacted on better promises” (Hebrews 8:6).
Finally, Jesus Christ is our “Lord” and “Priest forever” of His Own New Covenant, for “When Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His Own blood (“the New Covenant in My blood”), He entered the holy place, once for all, having obtained eternal redemption” (Hebrews 9: 11-12).
Jesus shed His New Covenant blood for our sins at Calvary. Our Father raised Jesus from the dead through His eternal New Covenant blood. Jesus, now our risen “Lord” and “priest forever,” obtained our “eternal redemption” when He took His Own New Covenant blood into the perfect tabernacle in heaven to God our Father. And Jesus, as our mediator of His better New Covenant, has made us right, and He keeps us right, with God through His Own New Covenant Lordship and high Priesthood.
So let us say “Thank You Lord, yes, and hallelujah, to all You have done for us so that we may be all You have made us to be in You!”
Let us walk in His New Covenant ways today and let us perform His New Covenant service today. This, truly, is our confession of Jesus Christ, our eternal “Lord” and “priest forever.”
He is worthy to be praised, all of the time, for Who He is and what He has done.
Hallelujah!
