Jesus Is Immanuel To You Always
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: ‘Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,’ which translated means, ‘God with us’”
Matthew 1:22-23
In the opening chapter of Matthew’s Gospel we are given a beautiful prophetic word, through Isaiah, of Christ being born for us as our Immanuel, “God with us.”
Then, in the closing chapter of Matthew’s Gospel, we see, in the very last verse, our resurrected Savior reaffirming to us that He remains our Immanuel when He said, “and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” Matthew 28:20.
Do you see this?
In chapter one Christ is born as “‘Immanuel,” which translated means, ‘God with us’” and then in the last chapter of Matthew Jesus said “I am with you always,” meaning “I am Immanuel always!”
It’s a blessing to see that Matthew, under the direction of the Holy Spirit, bookends His Gospel with the truth of Immanuel, “God with us.”
Oh praise our Lord that He is Immanuel to us “always,” in our beginning and in our ending, and everything in between too,“even to the end of the age.”
When you first came to Christ, at that very moment Jesus became your Immanuel. Let Jesus be Immanuel to you today, and every day, in fact “always, even to the end of the age.” Hallelujah!
