Offer God A Sacrifice Of Thanksgiving
Today’s Word Of Encouragement From Wayne:
“He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me” Psalm 50:23
How do we, as Christians, offer to God “a sacrifice of thanksgiving” in this day and why would it be a sacrifice at all to offer God thanksgiving?
If we are distressed and downcast, and don’t even feel worthy to enter God’s presence, and yet we sacrifice our feelings about ourselves and our state of mind, to praise our God anyway, this is a sacrifice of thanksgiving.
If we are so busy in our daily lives that we justify our having no time for God, and yet yield to Him nonetheless, entering His presence to honor Him and praise Him, this is a sacrifice of thanksgiving.
O beloved child of God, learn from your Lord how lovingly He sees your sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. Learn to love the sacrifice of thanksgiving.
The author of the New Testament letter to the Hebrews wrote this encouragement, “Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name” (Hebrews 13:15).
O child of God, keep your face towards your Lord at all times, for God defines your sacrifice of praise as “the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.”
Do you see this?
When you are not led by any negative feelings, but you sacrifice them, so you may instead be led by the Spirit of God, to praise Him anyway and all the way; your Loving God says here that you are actually bearing fruit to Him! Specifically, God receives your sacrifice of praise as a gift, as “the fruit of [your] lips that give thanks to His name!”
God says you are bearing fruit to Him, in His presence, when you offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving.
God sees what you do, in praising Him first, above all situations and conditions, and He will bless you for your sacrifice. Hallelujah!
