Statement of Faith
God
We believe in One God (Isaiah 44:6) manifested in three persons: that of the Father (Psalm 68:5), the Son (Hebrews 1:8) and the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4).
Jesus Christ
We believe in the historical virgin birth of Jesus Christ (Luke 1:34-35), His death upon the cross at Calvary where He paid for the sins of the world through His own blood, once for all (Hebrews 9:26,10:12) and His physical resurrection from the dead (Luke 24:39) followed forty days later by His ascension into Heaven (Acts 1:3,9).
Salvation
We believe “all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) and are therefore separate from God and in need of a Savior (Hebrews 9:22). Through one’s personal acceptance of Jesus Christ, specifically His death, atonement, and resurrection; salvation from sin and fellowship with the indwelling Christ is established (Romans 10:9, Col. 1:27).
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the personal indwelling of the Holy Spirit which is granted to every believer at the moment of their new birth into the kingdom of God (John 3:3 & 6, Romans 8:15-16). We believe in the necessity of continuously being filled with the Spirit of God through a conscious yielding to Him (Eph. 5:18).
Christ's Return
We believe in the literal future second coming of Jesus Christ (Rev. 22:12-13).
The Bible
We believe and accept the Bible as the inspired, inerrant Word of God, written by the Holy Spirit through the agency of man (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21).
The Great Commission
We believe in and accept as our responsibility the great commission to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15).
The Body of Christ
We believe in “preserving the unity of the Spirit” in the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:3) through: accepting our brothers and sisters in Christ just as He accepted us (Romans 15:7), accepting differences within the Body of Christ, realizing God works His way in each of His children as He wills (Romans 14, Philippians 2:13) and through keeping “our eyes fixed upon Jesus” (Hebrews 12:2) not allowing doctrinal disputes, quarrels, or speculations to separate us (2 Timothy 2:23-24, Titus 3:9).
The Individual Believer
We believe in “presenting every person complete in Christ” (Colossians 1:28), that it is Christ Who personally lives His life through us (Galatians 2:20), that the “laws of God are fulfilled in us who believe” (Romans 8:4, 10:4), and that experiential victory in Christ is not achieved through our own efforts, but through realizing His finished work and subsequent power which works all things in us (2 Corinthians 12:9-10, Colossians 1:27, Philippians 2:13, 1 Corinthians 15:10, Hebrews 13:21, Ephesians 2:8-10).
